Maternity Clothes

I dont know about other pregnant woman but I am one of those who envies other mums who can still fabulous at 6 months and beyond and manage to use solely a hair band to hold up their trousers.

Unfortunately I have had to invest in a few staple maternity items rather than manage in my usual Levis and River Island or Joules tops.

I love fashion and love buying clothes but with a lifespan of just 6 months I do struggle to have enthusiasm about Maternity things. I will either love the items and be sad to let them go despite their super size or never really become attached.

During my second pregnancy I wanted to maintain some style and have relied on a few Top Shop maternity vest hand various pairs of jeans. Big baggy cardigans have also being a favourite.

My journey to train as a health visitor

Image

So I guess it is about time I started regularly communicating with all my readers !

Why would anyone want to follow my blog ?

In brief I m a mum of one and expecting my second baby in January. Lottie my little girl was born January 2012 and with my second baby we have being told we’re having a boy. With Lottie a girl was a total surprise but second time round we could nt resist finding out.

With Lottie I was very fortunate to be able to spend the first two years of her life at home and not return to work. Before having Lottie I was a senior early years professional and had a degree in Childhood studies. I could never understand the fasination with young babies but now i totally can. Lotties first two years (almost ) have being incredible for me to experience .

Next week I am doing a teacher trainning course in hypnobirthing and hoping to begin freelance work around April 2014 as a hynobirthing practitioner supporting mums to be have the most natural and relaxed labour they can. Sorry no guarentees but it is all about your mind and preparing yourself from what I have read so far. It is belived by many that most of the pain mums feel in labour is fear related.

As well as hypnobirthing I am also wishing to train as a health visitor through the midwifery route. Big regrets now my a levels are all art based so on 1st Decmber though the distance learning center I am starting my access to midwifery course with the hope in 2015 I can start university – again to do midwifery. My long term aim to start my own business as a health visitor and hypnobirther. A few other things and ideas too.

It is going to be a tough and challanging journey I m sure but exciting. Given I m dyslexic the essays will be my biggest challanage and of course managing a baby and a toddler not forgetting Lola pup (currently 8 weeks old).

Why am am I bothering ? Because I believe I have finally found what I really want to do !! I love working in nurseries and children centers but that can only take me so far without me opening my own nursery. Of course I ve thought about that and even wrote various business plans and viewed possible buildings but the deciding factor against my own setting was finding the right staff and the risk factor.

So I am about to do science beyond GSCE ! Yes I passed at grade C but I did work hard and had my dads help and a bit of a push. This time I need to pass before I just knew maths English and science helped you progress and do A-levels.

I want to use my blog as a platform to discuss current issues I find out about and share my opinions on all topics relating to : hypnobirthing , midwifery and babies and todlers.

I wish I could say I could share money saving tips but I m sorry this is advice I will be seeking from others specially with my little girl starting private school in September 2015 and the new baby September 2017.

I am sorry I am one of those mums you perhaps read about last week paying for their children through prep school in hope to secure a place in a top grammar school.

I choose to train in hypnobirthing following all I have read on the topic and the fact I believe it supports woman think positivity in the most natural way they can. It won’t work for every woman but even those who it won’t work for it can help better prepare for labour.

I love helping others, communicating my beliefs and sharing good practise.

On a person level I love taking out mh daughter in her Bugaboo, shopping in Mama and Papas as well as  Next and using a Cath Kidson nappy bag. My litte girl, partner , my mum and dad and Lola dog are my life and support x
